Liz Medwid is an Alberta visual artist specializing in oil portraits, paintings of animals, and still life compositions.  Liz’s foray into art began recently under the tutelage of Dixie Orriss, a working artist, in St. Albert.  Over the last two years, she has focussed on portraiture, attempting to capture an accurate and true-to-life portrait of the subject, and to represent the unique spark of life present in the moment.

Liz primarily uses oil paints and mediums, but has begun adding artist’s gold to the background of some portraits to brilliant effect.

Liz’s work has been viewed in St. Albert and Edmonton at local art shows and arts events.
